Exhibition: Oxfordshire Artweeks 2022

May finally came round and I finally had some prints to put on the wall. Plan back in January was to display roughly A3 sized giclee prints (I much prefer the term “archival pigment ink prints”) and I’d already had some test prints made and decided who was going to print them (theprintspace) and on what paper (Hahnemuhle Photo Rag). All this in January! And I was well on the way to choosing.

But then I started to think about the photogravure images I’d seen at the RA Summer Show in London last year. I sort of fancied the idea of them and sort of thought that the technique would suit my type of photography/images. So I enrolled onto a workshop. To cut a long story short, by the time the Artweeks open house event rolled round, I had 10 photogravure prints framed and ready and had to have another eight images printed at theprintspace.

As I write this, it’s the beginning of day four and I’ve not sold any of my new work but I have sold some of the older, colour, New York prints that I displayed the last time I did Artweeks at home back in 2018 (which looks like this).

And the year before that looked like this (I was obsessed with gold frames having just been to the exhibition of Elton John’s collection of vintage prints (The Radical Eye) in London.
