I was in New York on a business trip, the conference I was at had finished and I had hours before I needed to be at JFK. It was hot and humid and a thunderstorm was rolling through. I bought a $5 umbrella and took these photos on my iPhone 4 on a circular walk from Times Square to Central Park and down 5th Avenue.

Over the years since, I’ve sold more prints from this series than of all of my other work put together.
